CUET (UG) 2024 stands for Common University Entrance Test (UG). UG stands for Under Graduates. CUET (UG) 2024 is conducted in the may month of the year.

CUET (UG) 2024 is a single window entrance test to seek admission, across the country, for any academic session, in any of the Central Universities (CUs) and other participating State Universities, Deemed Universities and Private Universities.

Candidates are admitted to their UG courses in the desired university based on the NTA Score secured in this test.

NTA stands for the National Testing Agency (NTA). It is a premier, specialist, autonomous and self-sustained testing organization established by Ministry of Education, MoE, to conduct entrance examinations for admission/fellowship in higher educational institutions.

NTA has been entrusted with the responsibility of conducting the CUET (UG) 2024.

Role of NTA is confined to registration of candidates, issue of admit cards, conduct of exam, host answer keys and invite challenges, finalise answer keys, process and declare results.

Eligibility, reservation, admission etc. are as per the rules and regulations of the respective participating university.

CUET (UG) 2024 exam will be conducted in Hybrid Mode - Computer Based Test (CBT) / Pen & Paper.

All CUET (UG) 2024 papers – Language papers, Domain Specific Subject Papers and General Test paper are of objective type – multiple choice questions (MCQs) with only one option correct.

In the past, students used to secure more than 95% marks in Class XII Board Examination to get admission in the University of their choice. The syllabus, standard of questions, marking scheme and scoring pattern of different boards are different, so the same percentage in different board do not reflect the same academic performance of the student. Thus, the admission based on the board exam marks do no justification with the students.

With the introduction of CUET (UG) 2024, selection process for the universities will now get standardised. The Common University Entrance Test CUET (UG) 2024 will provide a common platform and equal opportunity to all the candidates, across the country, irrespective of their boards. Yes. A candidate who wants to get admission in any UG courses in any Central University or its affiliated colleges for any academic year must appear in CUET (UG) 2024.

It has been mandated that admission to UG courses of Central Universities form the academic year 2022-23 onwards, will be based on NTA Score obtained in CUET (UG) 2024.

One year is sufficient for the preparation of CUET (UG) 2024 exam.
